To observe the International Women’s Day 2020, School of Planning and Architecture, Vijayawada celebrated the day throughout the first week of March, 2020. There were various competitions held in this week, namely poster design, slogan writing and essay writing competition. The winning posters were displayed in the campus and on the last day, the Director distributed prizes for the competitions. The International Women's Day Celebration was attended by large number of students and faculty.

The guests for the day were Dr. B. Keerthi- President – Vysavya Mahila Mandal – a NGO of repute in the region, Dr. Padmaja - Principal, Siddhartha Women College and Ms. Leena – Faculty of Delhi Public School, Vijayawada. They shared their experiences and talked about the works that they are performing in their respective fields with an emphasis towards womens' empowerment. Director Prof Dr. Minakshi Jain presented and talked about the existing conditions of women around the globe and encouraged everyone towards contributing for gender neutrality. Other faculty members also shared their experiences and expressed the importance of women in their lives.

Apart from this, the highlight of the event was when all the housekeeping staff ladies of the campus, the female faculty and staff were honoured by the Director SPAV and Chief Guests with flowers.
